The words “Kanou Precision” have a great significance for Kanou® Group. Because the name of our company has overlapped with another famous enterprise in China, the Huaneng Power Corporation. So we can’t register this trademark in China. Although these two names are totally different, we just have to accept the facts regrettably.

After the establishment of Japanese Kanou, I started to have the plan to register our trademark “Kanou Precision” in Japan. But when I made the request，the intellectual property office that we cooperated told me that we only have 70% chance to make it. The reason is still because the Huaneng Power Corporation. And there has one more unfavorable factor, the pronounce of our name is very close to the famous Japanese company, the Canon Inc. But this time I don’t want to give up again.

When they heard the news that I decided to register our trademark, the stuff in the intellectual property office was a little surprise and told me: if the registration fails, you still need to charge the fee. And my answer was just a simple word: Go!

But I have to say we are very fortunate. The God and the METI have helped us a lot. The process of registration was exceptionally smooth and the efficiency was very high!

14th Nov. 2014, We formally made the request to register the trademark”Kanou Precision”

9th Mar. 2015, We received the notice of passing the review by the METI

10th Mar. 2015, the payment of ten year’s right to use the trademark”Kanou Precision” was complete.

20th Mar. 2015, the registration of “Kanou Precision” was officially complete.
