Is it still a headache for you to handle ceramic ink + thermal strengthening?

By gelivableglass — In AG Glass — February 12, 2020

The ceramic ink is melted into the glass after being thermally strengthened by 680 ° high-temperature instant baking and instant cooling to achieve a very strong adhesion and durability of the color on the glass. The ink can withstand long-term sunlight and corrosion caused by being exposed to the atmosphere, which is the first choice for the processing method of outdoor display glass cover.

Ceramic ink, also called high temperature ink, needs to be processed with thermal strengthening. Hence, there are also some relative problems.

1.Thermal strengthening is not processed in a dust-free environment, and it is easy to cause dots, smudge and other defectives during the processing. For the electronic display screen with strict requirements on appearance, the yield is quite low and the cost is relatively high.

2.Thermal strengthening requires over 3.0mm glass (if glass is too thin, and it’s easily broken after high temperature), and there is not available for the glass under 5 inches, cause below 5 inches is smaller than the gap between the furnace rollers.

3.Ceramic inks for glass are only black and white, and other colors will use low temperature inks, not ceramic inks(high temperature inks).

In this way, for small size and thin glass covers that require multi-color printing, how to meet the requirement that the printing won’t change color or peel off under the outdoor sunlight?

The good news here is that Gelivable have found an alternative for the thin and small glass. That is Anti-UV ink + chemical strengthening. The Anti-UV ink we developed can meet the UV irradiance of 1.23W / m2 / nm and the test time is up to 1000 hours, which is equivalent to a test time of 42 days.

This solution meets the needs of the following glass covers:

1.Unlimited thickness. The thickness below 3mm can also be processed.

2.Various sizes over 1 inch can be processed.

3.Various can be processed, as well. In addition to black and white, Anti-UV inks also have other color ink series.

4.Anti-UV ink with chemical strengthening, no dots, smudge and other surface quality issues, and the cost is low.

For outdoor equipment customers, such as excavators, outdoor door locks, etc., it is recommended to apply an Anti-UV + chemical strengthening solution to allow customers to do the functional test of their products in one pass, so that their equipment can withstand severe weather.
