In 2015, our company established a revenue-generating proposal system to allow every colleague to better embody value in their work and to participate in business operations by providing better solutions for customers and companies. At the same time, in order to motivate everyone, the company has also established a proposal PK mechanism. Since then, the revenue-generating proposal has become everyone’s rights and obligations. Today we talked about what we have learned in the process of proposing a proposal for customers on covers glass.
In the beginning, we were trying to obtain orders, and we were unwilling to lose out on the PK mechanism. We tried our best to provide suggestions for customers, help customers draw drawings (at the time we did not have a technical department), proposed tolerance design or shape design for mass production feasibility, and helped customers select the right ones. The AG glass materials, the positioning and design needed in the customer’s use process, the convenient and environmentally-friendly packaging method, the cost reduction by changing the process flow, etc., these proposals were viewed by customers and indeed brought us some orders. Of course, there are times we fail, that is, the customer takes our complete design of “job-hopping”, but I think we still left a deep impression on the customer. Because not every glass factory will do these seemingly simple solutions. Most of the glass manufacturers will only answer “can do” or“cannot do” after reading the drawings.
Later, these proposals were also included in the scope of our job duties. Although the number of proposals in the PK mechanism has become less and less, the proposal has become our normal mode of thinking in the past three years, and a common behavior before we evaluate the drawings, which also helps to solve many quality and technical problems for the clients.
Just like we use the varnish to solve the problem that the cover glass with mirror surface silver printing is easy to fall off, so that the customer has no longer concerns about the design color. If we say that these are cases done better, more cost-effectively, then we have encountered an impossible product.
Is it possible to print many 0.15mm width lines? I think many factories will give up directly. The possibility of the printing industry is zero. But it is precisely because of the thinking for the customer proposal, and great confidence we got in the customer proposal, we tried and solved it with laser engraving.
It’s more than just orders for the customer’s proposal. It also allows us to learn a new skill. Progress comes from proposing for clients. Why not?
