It’s been around 2 months since the inquiry was received. Client requested us to provide custom cover glass for home automation device. Design is extremely beautiful. Consumers must be fond of it. But we met some difficulties when making samples.
They’re 15” and 27”tempered glass with white prints. The thickness is 2.0mm. Cyan glass and ultra clear glass can be used. Although we know the white glass may be green if we choose cyan glass, 2.0mm ultra clear glass is always out of stock. So we initially decided to choose cyan glass.
ultra white glass
However, the discoloration occurs and it’s far beyond our imagination. The white looks a little cyan and light green shadow comes up along the visual area, it’s more obvious when inspected against the light. The effect is much worse compared to client’s design sketch.
When we were discussing the white issue, different opinions came out. Some said “ we’ve asked client to provide white sample, he advised us to do according to our standard. It’s not a big deal” Some said “ Client requested float glass, here is the effect as it is. Moreover, 2.0mm ultra clear glass is not available” But we all know that it’s not acceptable. We decided to make samples again, although cost will be increased and more energy must be paid.
Finally, with the help of joint effort and resources integration, 2.0mm ultra clear glass was found. The finished white glass looks wonderful. We believe that it can match client’s expectation.
Some clients say they has no requirement. It’s the time to test our profession and quality assurance. We would never take client’s “unprofessional” as an excuse. To solve the client’s problem and to seek for better result is our constant aim.
