In the order meeting, QC Li read the drawing and the notes carefully, wrote down some data calculated fast and told us, the yield was not higher than 75%. It’s because during the processing of CNC the right angles were easier to make edges breakage. The purchaser Dan told us, the processing of CNC was the first stage, and there would be other processing after it. Each processing would have some wastage. The yield on the first stage was so low that the following processing would have lower yield. Neither the production nor sales was good so the right angles needed to be changed.
Comparing with other AG glass, the processing of this one was easier but the order reviewing was also needed. No matter how simple it was, they always inspected drawing and evaluated the feasibility first to reduce the losses and avoid some risks. This helped them to improve their technology, strengthen their competitiveness and offer their AG cover glass customers better service and benefits.
Considering the factual circumstances and their actual manufacture ability, the team changed the right angles of the groove into the chamfer R0.3mm and the bottom right angles into R0.6mm after multiple calculations and discussions. The upgrades are closer to the former angles and their shapes look similar. What’s more, it helps to improve the yield greatly.
After obtaining their clients’ consent, they started to change the drawing and manufacture the AG cover glass. It’s proved that the yield was 20% higher than before.
